Social Action Day 2010
|
B'nai Tzedek Teen Philanthropy's SOCIAL ACTION DAY 2010 was a huge success! Teens volunteered their time and participated in an intergenerational computer class with the Active Seniors Program at the Miles Nadal JCC, helped Reena with its Sunday Friends Club, made over 200 lunch bags for the homeless through Ve’ahavta and raised over $1,000 for United Jewish Appeal through a Cell-A-Thon. The students engaged in an allocations exercise based on their experiences and lessons throughout the day. Participants also heard from guest speaker, David Goodman, Social Innovation Manager at Canada Israel Experience who shared his personal journey that led him to working for the Jewish community, as well as his inspiration for Hoops4Israel. |

One senior's comments on the computer workshop: "Sam helped me understand computer issues that I couldn't figure out myself. It was great to have someone explain things so clearly." |
